* Federated SPARQL Query Processing [#a77e0632]
#ref(banner.gif)

The widespread adoption of SPARQL means that integrating data from multiple SPARQL endpoints is a requirement in various application domains. We are currently developing a system for supporting federated SPARQL queries, where access to multiple SPARQL endpoints is provided automatically as if querying a single RDF graph. The system is based on a framework that compiles a federated SPARQL query into a set of source queries to retrieve the required data from each SPARQL endpoint. Source query results are used to construct vertically partitioned buffer tables which are integrated dynamically using adaptive query processing. This almost entirely adaptive approach limits any reliance on statistics and metadata about SPARQL endpoints, which are often inaccurate or unavailable, but are required by existing systems supporting federated SPARQL queries.
* Database Grid [#v5713f1f]

A software prototype, the Adaptive Distributed Endpoint RDF Integration System (SPARQL-ADERIS), is currently in development. SPARQL-ADERIS is an adaptive, distributed query processor for integrating RDF data from multiple data resources supporting the SPARQL query language and protocol. More information will be provided soon.
Database Grid provides a uniform view for heterogeneous database resources in grid environment. It aims to integrate various scientific databases, including spectrum, geographic, and biological databases.

Database Grid started the project at [[Grid Technology Research Center>http://www.gtrc.aist.go.jp/]] of [[AIST>http://www.aist.go.jp/index-en.html]](National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology), Japan. Currently the project is a part of ''Service-ware Research Group'' of ''[[Information Technology Research Institute(ITRI)>http://itri.aist-go.jp/en/]], [[AIST>http://www.aist.go.jp]].''

SPARQL-ADERIS is hosted as an open source project [http://code.google.com/p/sparql-aderis here].
